I made Borsch!!

I want to be able to cook some of the foods that Zoey is used to once she comes home, so I've started practicing now.  Last night I made my first batch of Borsch!!  And it was SOOO yummy!!  Thanks Luba!

I should have taken pictures of the finished product, but didn't get around to it.  So here is a picture of one of the first steps, the shredded beets and carrots.  You know, just as proof that I did it.  ;)

I casually mentioned to Kyle the situation with Alaina yesterday.   Like, I just sort of slipped it into conversation we were already having.  I've been hesitant to tell him.  We actually fell in love with another little girl on RR before Alaina.  We had her picture taped to our fridge for weeks.  When we finally called to inquire about her, we found out that another family would be adopting her.  When I told Kyle, he was heartbroken.  He sobbed his little heart out and it hurt me tremendously.  I'm sure that it was more like losing a precious toy to him, but because I was hurting as well it made it all so much harder.  Flash forward to now, and I really didn't want to tell him that we weren't bringing his little Alaina home.  The boys first saw a picture of Zoey while we were still in country, and I was so thankful they thought she was Alaina so that we didn't have to explain over skype or so that our friends didn't have to explain things to them.  (I say them, but really I'm not too worried about Brandon or Seth due to their age)  When we got home we just started saying things like, " When we get to bring Lainey home..., Do you think Lainey would like that...."   Now for the most part, they say Lainey like us.  I wanted to be honest, so while Kyle and I were putting duplo blocks together and chatting, I just sorta kind of snuck it in there and told him.  Either he took it really well, or he really wasn't listening, or he's in denial.  I'm leaving it at he took it really well and will wait until he brings it up.

We had a nice lazy week.  We snuggled on the couch and watched lots of movies together, had one play date, and did a little of this and a little of that.

It sure is nice to be home.  It sure is nice to be able to snuggle my boys and kiss their boo-boos, wipe away their tears, tickle their tummies, and hear their giggles.  But I'm missing one.  I missing a fourth body to snuggle, a fourth set of boo-boos and tears, a tummy, and one of the cutest giggles ever.  There has not been one day that has passed that I haven't listened to the sweet little laugh that stole my heart.   It's official.....I miss her like crazy!

Everytime she would break out in laughter, so would I! :)

Can't wait to hear when you get to go pick her up.
